May News-conference in Puerto Iguazu, visit to distance seminary students and family news
Hello again from Tucuman! Since I wrote last Dick and I have been to Puerto Iguazu and back. We met with other field leaders in Latin America for five days. It was great to be with colleagues from Brazil, Venezuela, Uruguay and Argentina. Andrea stayed home with Barb, one of our missionary colleagues and friends. I've posted a few pictures of our time at Parque Iguazu. The falls really are incredible and very much worth the two day drive from Tucuman. :-)
This month Beth moves to the town in North Africa where she will be living and working. As of today she has finished her training time with the Peace Corps. She has made lots of new friends and is looking forward to her time in the new town.
Ben has finished his Junior year at Taylor and will be working for the summer. He would like to visit us here in Argentina in August. :-)
Andrea continues her studies and will be following the Argentine school year, with plans to finish her sophmore year in December.
Dick visited his distance seminary students this past weekend. His trip takes four days and he covers more than a 1,000 miles as he goes to the towns where his students live.
I'm waiting to see where we'll have interpersonal skills workshops this year and am planning to help with one that is going to be held in Montevideo, Uruguay in July.
We appreciate your prayers for our church here in Tucuman. This coming weekend we'll be having a Locreada (meal at church where the thick squash stew called Locro is the main course) on Sunday, May 25th, Argentine Independence Day. I hope to post some pictures of our time together. We plan to have a baptism and baby dedication and worship service after the noon meal.
